Download Mozilla Weave 0.2.6
Mozilla released a new version of Weave a few days ago posted online. This time it concerns version 0.2.6, which is from this location can be downloaded as an add-on for Firefox. Weave is an add-on for Firefox that saves browser metadata – such as bookmarks, preferences, passwords and history – to a private account on Mozilla’s servers. The browser metadata can then be downloaded to another computer on which Firefox is installed. All data sent to Mozilla’s servers is client-side encrypted. This way you can access your own bookmarks from practically any computer and you don’t have to worry about setting up a Firefox installation to your own wishes. What has been changed in Mozilla Weave 0.2.6 is listed below:
Highlights:
- Much reworked tab sync code, should be better, some improvements left to do still
- (regression) Weave will prompt you to open tabs you have already dismissed
- Sync computer/profile names and types, allow them to be set via the prefs pane
- Initial OAuth implementation
- Sharing fixes (sharing not yet enabled)
- Initial Thunderbird support
- resolver fixes
- Added ‘Input History’ sync. This is whatever you’ve typed into the URL bar (to make it so you will get the same awesome bar completions on all your machines).
