Software Update: Malwarebytes 4.1.0.56 – 1.0.835

Spread the love

Malwarebytes has released version 4.1 of its anti-virus program of the same name. This program is aimed at fighting malware, such as malicious software that pretends to be a bona fide antivirus or antispyware solution, but in reality has less good intentions, such as ransom– or scareware. In addition to the free version, there is a paid variant, which offers additional functionality, including real-time protection.

In addition to a new look, version 4.0 includes an improved detection engine. That was necessary too, because Malwarebytes 3 scored not too good more in the tests. Furthermore, the performance of the program and the speed of the scan have also been improved and only Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 are supported. Version 4.1 also adds a dark mode, improves detection and performance, and fixes some issues.

Improvements

  • Added Dark Mode user interface option.
  • Enhanced performance.
  • Improved anti-exploit detection and remediation.

Stability/issues fixed

  • Fixed: Install failed in Install Certificates.
  • Fixed: Several system crashes or hangs occurring under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed: Web protection prevents Avast SecureLine VPN from turning off.
  • Fixed: Several user interface issues.
