Anyone who has a network under his care that requires slightly more maintenance than the average home network must regularly spend time managing all equipment and software on that network. According to its makers, Kiwi CatTools should be able to shorten the time that you are working on this by taking some of this work off your hands:

• Perform configuration backups and have any differences instantly emailed to you.
• Issue commands via Telnet or SSH to many devices at once.
• Change the configuration at scheduled times.
• Change all your network device passwords in one go.

Its also fully scriptable, has a built-in TFTP server, supports SSH, Telnet and more. SNMP support to be added very shortly.[break]The developers of Kiwi CatTools have released an initial beta for version 2.0.6 of the program. In that release, the following has changed from the previous version:[/break]

• Client scripting code and functions have been rearranged into device centric script files to allow simpler custom device scripting
• Modified all Client scripts so activity scripts only hold activity logic, all device logic now in device specific scripts
• Modified Extreme backup to try to get rid of stray CR without LF
• Modified BlueCoat backup to change ignore string as previous didn’t catch all instances
• Modified BlueCoat backup to remove cursor repositioning string after handling a more prompt
• Modified Cisco router modify config to apply stop on error test to timeout result of wait
• Modified Cisco CatOs enable mode to only send CR as CRLF under SSH causes error
• Modified Cisco router enter command to apply stop on error test to timeout result of wait
• Fixed Cisco Router login to send CR if no response from device and buffer empty in case it needs CR for activation
• Fixed Linux Enter command to pick up invalid commands correctly
• Replaced compare control in Main exe to improve reliability

• Added “Install As” option to CatTools Manager. Allows service to login as a specified username, instead of LocalSystem
• Added “Monitor InfoLog” option to CatTools Manager. Allows monitoring of CatTools activity when running remotely, or when desktop interaction is disabled.
