Software Update: Jetico Personal Firewall 1.0.1.59

The Finnish Jetico has released a new version of its free Personal Firewall. The software uses a so-called three-layer protection. First of all, the low-level network packets are filtered on, for example, source, final destination, addressing and protocols used. In addition, there is filtering at application level, where network traffic per program is monitored. Finally, there is filtering at user level. For example, consider Trojans and other malicious programs. Below are the changes since the last entry in the junk tracker:

• Problem of appearing repeated popup messages fixed.
• Minor user interface enhancements.

Changes in version 1.0.1.58:

• Compatibility problem with TCPDump and Hamachi software solved.
• Main program window state properly saved now.
