Intel has released version 3.2.0 of the Solid State Drive Toolbox. With this program it is possible to manage a solid state drive from Intel. For example, it can provide information about the characteristics of the drive, run some diagnostic tests and optimize performance. In addition, it is possible to update the firmware. Version 3.2.0 of the Solid State Drive Toolbox contains only new firmware for the 530 series SSDs.
Intel SSD Toolbox 3.2.0
This version of the tool contains a firmware update for the Intel SSD 530 Series (to version DC32) with the following changes:
- Default Software Settings Preservation (SSP) for DIPM is changed from a default = on, to a DEFAULT = OFF. This addresses situations in older systems where the drive was not found after a warm reset causing blue screens.
- Corrects an occasional miss-reporting of SMART attribute E3h (Timed Workload Read/Write ratio).
- The drive no longer increments SMART 0Ch (Power Cycle Count) after a SECURE ERASE operation.
