Software Update: Intel Processor Frequency ID Utility 7.1
Intel has released a new version of its Processor Frequency ID Utility. This program provides comprehensive information about the processor of systems equipped with a beating heart from Intel. In addition to support for Extended Memory 64 Technology (EM64T), Version 7.1 also adds recognition of several new processor models:
Changes from version 7.0 to 7.1:
- The Intel Processor Frequency ID Utility v7.1 adds support for Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (Intel EM64T).
Intel EM64T requires a computer system with a processor, chipset, BIOS, OS, device drivers and applications enabled for Intel EM64T. The processor will not operate (including 32-bit operation) without an Intel EM64T-enabled BIOS. Performance will vary depending on your hardware and software configurations. Intel EM64T-enabled OS, BIOS, device drivers and applications may not be available. Check with your vendor for more information. - The Intel Processor Frequency ID Utility v7.1 also adds support for the latest Intel Xeon, Intel Pentium 4, Intel Pentium M, and Intel Celeron processors.
