Binary Notions released version 3.2 of its Bittorrent client Halite on Wednesday. This program, which takes its name from the eponymous mineral thanks, is open source and is being developed by the Irishman Eóin O’Callaghan. Halite uses the Arvid Norberg made libtorrentlibrary and some boostlibraries. Below is a list of the most important changes made in this release:

Notable changes:

  • Shutdown scheduler.
  • Disk cache support
  • Managed torrent queue system
  • Optional port randomizations (both main and DHT).
  • Plays nice by Vista/Server 2008 UAC rules.
  • Updated to OpenSSL 0.98k
  • Updated to Boost 1.40
  • Updated to libtorrent 0.14.6
