Download GrabIt 1.6.0 beta build 928
Early today, Ilan Shemes has posted the first beta version of the 1.6 branch online on the GrabIt homepage. More precisely, it concerns version 1.6.0 beta build 928, which via this link can be downloaded as an installation package. GrabIt is a freeware news client for Windows and can send binary and text files to and from newsgroups as well use of NZB files to download binary files directly. Empty binaries that have been split into multiple files are automatically merged together. Via the download queue, the articles still to be downloaded can be sorted by, among other things, file size and name. The same queue can also be used to prioritize the files to be downloaded. Build 928 comes with the following changes:
Here is a complete list of changes since the last public release:
- New GrabIt Usenet Browser technology enables the user to instantly see and download the latest binaries in a group without downloading headers;
- Increased the max amount of download threads to 32 (per server limit can be changed from inside the server properties window);
- Using the Download with other server option in the batch will start downloading from the other server immediately;
- Batch progress bars are now located inside the binary list;
- Fixed the bug that resulted in a lot of empty txt files after importing NZB files with binaries that were not on the server;
- Fixed the bug that resulted in a lot of ‘Article not on server’ errors (mostly for Versatel and Zonnet users);
- Redesigned the binary decoding process to generate less disk activity;
- GrabIt was rebuilt in a new development environment for better speed and compatibility;
- A lot of minor bug fixes.
