A new version of GPU-Z can again be downloaded from the Techpowerup website. GPU-Z is a program that can tell you exactly what kind of graphics card is in the PC. It provides comprehensive information including the manufacturer, model, type, revision and speed of the GPU, size, type and speed of the memory and much more. The program has similarities with CPU-Z, but provides extensive information about the processor. However, it is not from the same makers, it has only been used as a source of inspiration with permission, according to the maker of GPU-Z. The changelog of this release shows the following changes:

Changes in version 0.1.7:

  • Corrected several GeForce 9600 GT readings
  • Switched GPU and PCB temperature readings on ATI cards when using LM63 sensor
  • Some fields on the main screen will now show gray “unknown” instead of “0” when value unknown
  • Fixed HD 2900 GT ROP and shader count
  • Added HD 3850 AGP detection
  • Added 8400GS detection
  • Fixed shader count on modded/unmodded R420 cards
  • Added Rage LT Pro detection
  • Fixed RS300 vertex shader count
