DVD Identifier can display specific information of a writable DVD. For example, the program shows the manufacturer of the disc and the speeds at which the disc can be burned. The latest version is available on the homepage of the program as of today to download† The new version has been given jersey number 3.6 and comes with the following changes:

• Preliminary support for DVD-R DL (Dual Layer).
• Updated manufacturer database.
• Additional Retrieval of the write speed descriptors using the obsolete ‘Mode Sense’-command is now turned off by default.
