Software Update: Dropbox 3.14.5

Version 3.14.5 of Dropbox has been released. Dropbox is an online storage service that makes it possible to synchronize files between different computers. In addition, files and photo albums can be shared with people who don’t have Dropbox accounts. Clients are available for Windows, Linux, OS X, iOS, Android, BlackBerry, and Kindle Fire. A free account gives access to 2GB of storage, with the option to expand it by introducing new users. Bee payment of ten euros per month, the storage capacity is 1TB. There is also the possibility to for Business to take out a subscription. In version 3.14, Linux and Windows, among others, have made the switch to Qt 5.5 and the program works as a true 64bit application in the 64bit version of Mac OS X. New in the 3.14 series:

  • [Mac] On 64-bit OS X, Dropbox will run as a 64-bit application (except for dbfseventsd)
  • [Windows & Linux] Upgrade to Qt 5.5
  • Many small fixes and improvements

New in this build:

  • Fixes an issue that prevented Dropbox from starting on systems with certain firewall configurations.
