Download Dropbox 1.2.14

Dropbox is an online storage service that allows you to sync files between different computers. In addition, files and photo albums can be shared with people who don’t have Dropbox accounts. Clients are available for Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, iPhone, iPad, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Mobile. A free account gives access to 2GB of storage and for ten or twenty dollars a month that is 50 or 100GB respectively. Recently an experimental version was released with version number 1.2.14 and its changelog looks like this:

• Fix bug in OSX which would cause multiple dropbox items to be in the favorites list.
• Fix very rare bug in OSX which would cause 100% cpu usage.

• New icons for Windows. (Favorite Links, Dropbox folder, Photos, Public)

1.2 Features

• Security enhancements, an attacker will not be able to steal your computer’s account credentials just by copying configuration files to another machine.
• New encrypted database format to prevent unauthorized access to local Dropbox client database.

Notes:

Sadly as a result of the new database some 3rd party apps that relied on our old database format to sync with Dropbox will stop working (Examples include KFilebox, DropboxPortableAHK)
