Download Dr. DivX 1.0 beta
The developers of DivX are developing a new program that can convert various video inputs into DivX encoded files with just a few clicks of the mouse. dr. DivX is the name of this program and 1.0 beta has recently become available. We found the following release notes:
This version of Dr. DivX is for public beta and all features and/or functions may not be fully functional during this release.
Fixes from Alpha 1.0
- Video splitting (x file or y size) not working properly
- Information section not updated for jobs
- Application crashes during preview of DV
- Application crashes during preview of DV
- Output bit rate decreases if the “certification” box is checked/unchecked continuously.
- Frame rate control (x1/2, x1/3) has no effect in Home Theater.
- Frame rate control (x1/2, x1/3) has no effect if the “certification” box is not selected.
- Profile editor not restricting profile to certification levels
- Profile editor saves MPEG-4 parameters (GMC, Q-Pixel) in .dip file even when the “certification” box is selected.
- Encoding Screen – Bit rate graph zooms-in/out as encoding progresses
- Not producing the correct size output file for certain input files
- misc. GUI bugs
Current Issues
- dr. DivX may crash occasionally when encoding of live-capture content on Win98/Me platform.
- Encoding live-capture content with DVCam may not be accurate (mark-in/mark-out time)
- A single-pass batch encoding job causes Dr. DivX to crash.
- Inclusion of certain VirtualDub filters may cause Dr. DivX to crash.
- Frame decimation may not work incase of Live-capture content encoding.
- dr. DivX may not resize properly for non-standard aspect ratio inputs.
- dr. DivX “Profile Output” displays erroneous resolution value when different certification level is selected.
- The certification chosen in the profile editor is not reflected in Dr. DivX application.
- When certification is disabled and resize unchecked, Dr. DivX may freeze.
- dr. DivX fails to start a batch job (configured by EKG) when EKG is still open
- dr. DivX occasionally fails to encode a clip with a separate Audio input (MP3)
- Live capture encoding with certain live capture cards may freeze Dr. DivX.
NOTE: This software is available for a 15-day trial which also includes DivX Pro 5.0.5.
