Software Update: CPUBench 4.0.0.6

Spread the love

CPUBench has arrived at version 4.0.0.6, unfortunately without a changelog this time. The program runs a benchmark to compare your CPU speed with other CPUs and is described as follows:

CPUBENCH calculates the speed of the CPU by performing 12 tests, a diversity of floating-point and integer calculations. Many of these tests originate from old and more recent benchmark tests that were designed for supercomputers and mini`s. Some are well-known , some are unknown. The speed of modern CPU`s justify the use of these benchmarks, as they become faster and faster nowadays. To compensate for limitations of each individual benchmark, an overall score is calculated. This overall score was not intended to be a benchmark number but it can be used as such. It represents the outcome of all 12 benchmarks for every tested CPU. The overall score ranges from 0 to 10 with an accuracy of 1 decimal. The fastest CPU in the database has an overall score of 10. The KPPS benchmark is not incorporated in the calculation of the overall score, because it is a benchmark of the video card. In this aspect it is does not really belong to CPUBENCH but I left it in to be a future expansion.
