Download Avast Antivirus 6.0.986 Beta

Alwil Software has released a new beta release of version 6.0 of its antivirus program. The program is available in the free Avast Free Antivirus version and the paid Avast Pro Antivirus. In addition, there is Avast Internet Security, which includes a firewall and anti-spam as extras. In version 6.0 we see improvements to the sandbox, there is a browser plugin that can indicate the reputation of a website and there is SafeZone, a special virtual environment for sensitive transactions. The release notes show that, except for a few issues, all issues from the earlier build have been resolved. So it probably won’t be long before the final will be available.

What’s new in this beta:

Pretty much all the bugs from the previous beta builds should be solved now, with the following exceptions:

• Firewall: uTorrent conflict not yet fully resolved
• Firewall: packet rules for applications still don’t support ASK and AUTO-DECIDE actions properly.
• Incorrect context menu handling in SafeZone
• Other small visual issues in SafeZone
