Software Update: Asterisk 1.2.1

Spread the love

Asterisk is a comprehensive PBX for the BSD, Linux and Mac OS X platform. The program offers all the functions you can expect from a telephone exchange. It includes options for voicemail, conferencing and call queuing. In addition, support for caller ID services, ADSI, SIP and H.323 is available. For a complete overview of all possibilities, we refer you to this page. The developers have released version 1.2.1 of Asterisk with the following announcement:

We are proud to announce that Asterisk 1.2.1 has been released! This release of Asterisk contains a number of bug fixes over version 1.2.0. See the ChangeLog for more details.

As of this release, Russell Bryant and Kenny Shumard will become the official maintainers of the Asterisk, Zaptel and libpri 1.2.x release branches (with help from the community bug marshals and others, of course). Russell has been the maintainer of the 1.0.x branch for quite some time and Kenny is a Digium employee who has been helping to manage our internal source trees for Asterisk Business Edition and other projects.
