Download 7-Zip 4.59 beta

After six alpha releases, the first beta release of version 4.59 of the open source archiving program 7-Zip has just been released. This program can handle a large number of compression formats, including zip, cab, rar, arj, lzh, chm, gzip, bzip2, z, tar, cpio, rpm, deb and of course the self-developed 7z. Furthermore, the software is capable of opening iso files and nsis installation packages. Below you can find what has changed in version 4.59:

Changes in version 4.59 beta:

• 7-Zip now can unpack UDF, XAR and DMG/HFS archives.
• 7-Zip File Manager now keeps encryption when you edit encrypted file inside archive.
• 7-Zip File Manager now allows to change current folder from the address bar drop-down list.
• It’s allowed to use -t switch for “list” and “extract” commands.
• Some bugs were fixed.
• New localizations: Icelandic, Kurdish Sorani.
