Download 7-Zip 4.11 beta

7-Zip has released beta 4.11 of its eponymous compression utility. In addition to its own compression method 7z, the program can also handle zip, cab, rar, arj, gzip, bzip2, tar files, among others. The changelog shows the following changes since the last entry in the junk tracker:

Version 4.11 beta

• 7-Zip now shows file names during compressing/decompressing
• 7-Zip now supports Zip64 extension or ZIP format. So now it’s possible to compress files bigger than 4 GB to ZIP archives.
• Some bugs were fixed
• New localization: Galician

Version 4.10 beta

• Bugs in v4.0* were fixed:
  • Some commands in command line with “-r” switch worked incorrectly, so 7-zip could skip some files during compressing
  • Some other bugs were fixed
• Small internal changes
