Shuttle Introduces Mini PC R8 1710GA For Gamers

Shuttle has released a new desktop PC with which the Taiwanese company is targeting gamers. The compact system is based on the SZ170R8 and is equipped with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 and an Intel Core i7-6700.

Shuttle has built its R8 1710P around its aluminum XPC cube SZ170R8 barebone, which measures 21.6×33.2×19.8cm. The manufacturer has added a Core i7-6700 processor and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 980, and to power it all is a 500W power supply with 80 Plus Silver designation, while Shuttles Integrated Cooling Engine cooling system with four heatpipes keep the processor at an acceptable temperature.

Furthermore, there is 16GB DDR4-2133 memory, and there is a 2TB HDD and an M2 SSD of 256GB for storage. The amount of RAM can be upgraded to 64GB and there is still room in the housing for three additional 3.5″ HDDs or other storage media. An 80mm fan in front of the HDD rack should keep the drives cool.

Shuttle supplies the desktop with Windows 10 Home for a suggested retail price of 1464 euros.
