According to rumors, the upcoming OnePlus 3 smartphone will have a high-end Snapdragon 820-soc from Qualcomm. Furthermore, a battery capacity of 3500mAh is mentioned. OnePlus itself will only reveal information at the end of this quarter.

The rumors were put online by the Chinese news site MyDrivers. With a mentioned battery capacity of 3500mAh, the OnePlus 3 offers a small improvement over the OnePlus 2, which has to make do with 3300mAh. Furthermore, the device seems to have to compete with high-end smartphones such as the LG G5, Samsung Galaxy S7 and HTC 10 by installing the Snapdragon 820-soc.

If the rumors are correct, then OnePlus will not change the specifications of the screen; it is again a 5.5″ model with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. However, the rumors speak of a Super Amoled type, where LCD is still used. The ram is with 4GB the same as the OnePlus 2, but there are a version with 6GB ram should also come out.

According to previously published reports, which are also not confirmed by OnePlus, the new smartphone will cost around 300 euros. MyDrivers speaks of converted 270 euros for the version with 4GB ram and 32GB storage, and 330 euros for the version with 6GB ram and 64GB storage. The Chinese manufacturer itself has announced that it will unveil its OnePlus 3 before the end of the quarter. It is the intention that the smartphone ‘speaks more to the imagination’ than previous models in the series.

OnePlus was best known for its One, a high-end smartphone for a relatively low price. The successors, the OnePlus 2 and X, were received with less enthusiasm. If the specs and price are right, it looks like OnePlus will once again pursue the aggressive pricing of the One. Incidentally, the price of the OnePlus 2 was adjusted downwards earlier this year, so that 345 euros must now be paid for it.
