LG will present its first smartphone with its own soc within a week and a half, ZDNet claims. The LG Odin soc is an octacore with four Cortex A15 and four Cortex A7 cores, but the GPU in the soc is unknown.

According to ZDNet, the smartphone with the LG Odin-soc falls into the G3 line of devices, which now includes several variants in addition to the original G3. The model number is according to previous rumors F490L, which puts it in line with the G3 (F460L) and G3 mini (F470). The type number also indicates that the device is intended for the manufacturer’s South Korean home market, but LG also releases many devices for the South Korean market in the rest of the world.

Little is known about the Odin-soc, but it would be an octa-core processor with presumably four more powerful Cortex A15 cores and four more economical Cortex A7 cores. The GPU in the soc is unknown, but it is probably a Mali GPU. The smartphone would also have 4G support.

ZDNet says that LG will present the device before the end of the month, so within about a week and a half. Further details of the device are still unknown. LG had been working on its Odin soc for two years and during that time there were a lot of rumors about it. LG would be the fourth smartphone maker after Samsung, Apple and Huawei to release devices with its own soc.
