Bethesda will release the PC version of Wolfenstein: Youngblood on Thursday, a day ahead of schedule. However, the game does not yet have RTX support at its release; raytracing will be added later with a patch.

The console versions of Youngblood will be released on Friday as scheduled, but the PC version will arrive a day earlier, reports Bethesda on Twitter. It is unknown why the PC version will be released earlier. Like the other recent Wolfenstein games, Youngblood uses the Vulkan api and it is the first game with that api to get RTX support.

Jerk Gustafsson, the game’s producer, recently said in an interview with GamesBeat that ray tracing will not be available when the game comes out. The functionality is added by developers from Nvidia itself and they are still working hard on it, according to the producer. It is not yet known when the RTX patch for the game will be released. Nvidia announced in May that Youngblood will receive RTX support and the video card maker will also bundle the game with its RTX cards from the summer.

In Wolfenstein: Youngblood a co-op function is central, but it is also possible to play alone. The game is set in Paris in 1980, twenty years after the events of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Jess and Soph, the twin daughters of BJ Blazkowicz and Anya, play the lead roles. The game will be released for Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
