The American Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency is introducing a new partnership that should help protect critical cyber infrastructures in the US against attacks from outside. AWS, Microsoft and Google Cloud, among others, are participating.

In the CISA statement can be read that the partnership that was given the name Joint Cyber ​​Defense Collaborative should play a leading role in the development of cyber defense plans. According to CISA, this will enable coordinated implementation, better detect risks and limit the impact of cyber attacks. Insights are also shared among members through the Joint Cyber ​​Defense Collaborative, so that members are more quickly informed where there are any problems.

“Participating partners are working together to protect national critical cyber infrastructures from attacks and to develop new solutions to these problems,” said Jen Easterly, director of CISA. “Our initial focus will be on fighting ransomware and coordinating incidents across cloud service providers.”

Amazon Web Services, AT&T, Crowdstrike, FireEye Mandiant, Google Cloud, Lumen, Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks and Verizon, among others, have already signed up. Some US government organizations are also participating, including the US Departments of Defense and Justice, the NSA, the FBI and the US Cyber ​​Command team.
