Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti will be released on January 5 for $799

Nvidia announces its GeForce RTX 4070 Ti for desktops. This GPU was previously announced as RTX 4080 12GB and has 7680 CUDA cores. The video card will have a suggested retail price of $ 799 and will be released on January 5. Nvidia is not introducing its own Founders Edition.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti gets an AD104 GPU with 7680 CUDA cores, a boost clock of 2.61GHz and a tbp of 285W. The video card also has 12GB of GDDR6X memory. Nvidia claims the RTX 4070 Ti offers up to 40Tflops of shading computing power. The manufacturer claims that the GPU is faster than the RTX 3090 Ti in various games. The first leaked 3DMark results suggest that the RTX 4070 Ti performance is in between that of the RTX 3090 and 3090 Ti.

The video card is also based on the Lovelace architecture, just like the previously announced RTX 4090 and 4080. The video card therefore supports features such as DLSS Frame Generation and shader execution re-ordering. The GPU is produced on TSMC’s 4N process, which is also used for Nvidia’s Hopper GPUs for data centers.

The RTX 4070 Ti is identical to the previously announced RTX 4080 12GB, whose release was canceled by Nvidia last year after criticism. This RTX 4080 12GB had fewer CUDA cores than the RTX 4080 16GB, which was introduced at the same time. With this, Nvidia would initially come up with two RTX 4080 video cards, both with a different level of performance. The RTX 4080 12GB had a suggested retail price of 1099 euros before it was scrapped.

The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti will be released on January 5. According to Nvidia, the video card will have a suggested retail price of $ 799, which, converted and with VAT, amounts to about 910 euros. No Founders Edition reference model from Nvidia will be available for this GPU, but only custom models from board partners. It is unknown whether these models reach the suggested retail price of 910 euros.
