Splatoon 3 will be available on Nintendo Switch from September 9 for $59.99. In addition to the multiplayer mode, the third installment in the franchise also introduces a new single player campaign and a revamped co-op mode Salmon Run.

In Splatoon 3, as in previous installments in the Turf War multiplayer mode, players must cover as much of the playing field as possible with their team’s paint. They also have paint guns at their disposal, but also special weapons such as rockets, a bow and a mech. Players can also temporarily disable each other by firing directly at each other with the paint guns.

In addition to announcing the release date of Splatoon 3 reveals Nintendo also dlc for Splatoon 2. Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers get Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion for free. The dlc is also available separately for roughly 20 euros. The single player DLC contains 80 missions in which the main character Agent 8 tries to escape from the metro system of Inkopolis.
