Nintendo has announced a new Metroid game for the Nintendo Switch. Metroid Dread is a platformer with a 2d perspective. The game will be released on October 8. In its own words, Nintendo is now working hard on Metroid Prime 4.

In the trailer that Nintendo showed, the game is also called Metroid 5, but the game will be released under the name Metroid Dread. It is the first Metroid game to be released for the Nintendo Switch. According to Nintendo, the game is getting a new feel, but Samus is the familiar main character.

The game will be released on October 8, with amiibo figures of Samus and a robot enemy coming into the game on that same date. In addition to a trailer, Nintendo shows a video in which developers tell more about the game. Nintendo has also put details on its website.

When announcing Metroid Dread, Nintendo said that Metroid Prime 4 is still being worked on, but no new details were given. That game was already announced in 2017, but in 2019 Nintendo decided to start development again, because the first attempt did not meet the quality requirements.
