Nabu Casa announces Apple CarPlay integration for Home Assistant

Nabu Casa has introduced Home Assistant for Apple CarPlay. CarPlay integration has been added to version 2024.1 of the iOS app. The app contains four tabs that now allow users to control their Home Assistant devices from the car.

The Actions tab allows users to perform automated tasks. The developers give in their announcement also an example where such a task opens the garage door and simultaneously heats the house to 22 degrees Celsius.

The Areas tab lists all Home Assistant devices in a user’s home, making them easy to find and control. The Control section displays the different types of functions of the Home Assistant devices and the Servers section allows the user to find different Home Assistant servers and then connect to them.
