Motorola presents first phone with 200-megapixel camera

Lenovo brand Motorola has presented the first phone with 200-megapixel camera. It concerns the X30 Pro, a phone that will probably be released in Europe later on as the Edge 30 Ultra. The camera sensor is from Samsung.

The camera sensor used is the Samsung HP1. However, users will rarely use the full resolution of the sensor. In low light, the sensor can combine sixteen pixels from the sensor into one pixel in the photo, resulting in an equivalent of 2.56 micrometers of pixels. This results in photos with a 12.5-megapixel resolution. In bright light, the sensor can capture photos in 50-megapixel resolution by combining four pixels, or capture photos in full 200-megapixel resolution. The sensor has an area of ​​82 square millimeters and an optical size of 1/1.22″. The lens has an aperture of f/1.95.

The camera has a 50-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens in front and autofocus for macro shooting. In addition, there is a camera with a telephoto lens that offers 2x magnification compared to the primary camera. The front camera has a maximum resolution of 60 megapixels.

The X30 Pro runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 soc and features 8GB or 12GB of Lpddr5 memory and 128GB to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The 4610mAh battery can be charged with a maximum of 125W. The screen is a 144Hz OLED panel of 6.67 “with 2400×1080 pixels. The X30 Pro shares many features with the new razr-foldable, also presented on Thursday.

In addition to the X30 Pro, Motorola also came with the cheaper S30 Pro. It has a slightly smaller 6.55 “screen and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ soc from last year. The X30 Pro appears for 3700 yuan, currently converted about 530 euros. The S30 Pro should cost about 288 euros. according to previous rumors later to Europe as the Edge 30 Ultra and Edge 30+.
