Microsoft Edge considers Twitter favicon change potentially dangerous
Microsoft Edge is showing a security alert to some users because Twitter has set a new favicon for its website. An internal security feature, which should prevent redirects to potentially dangerous websites, has been activated.
The notification asks the user to confirm a changed favicon. There is also a message in which Edge advises the user to uninstall the web app if it wants the user to believe that it is a different app. The security feature is baked into both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge and should protect users from sudden web redirects to potentially dangerous websites.
