Soon Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 will probably be available again in download stores. The games were pulled from digital shelves last year. It is not yet known when the games will be available again.

Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 were withdrawn from sale last year because the licenses on historical footage used in the games had expired. Konami entered the licenses renew, but that meant that the games could not be sold temporarily. The developer stressed that the measure would be temporary and that the games would return.

It looks like the games will be available again soon. In a tweet it can be read that Konami “preparing to resume sales of temporarily unavailable Metal Gear titles.” It is most likely the individual HD versions of the aforementioned Metal Gear Solid games and the Metal Gear collections that contain the games, such as the 2011 Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection.

Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 first appeared on November 13, 2001 and November 17, 2004, respectively. After that, HD versions were released for multiple platforms.
