2K is going to re-release the trilogy of Mafia games. The developer will release more information next week, but listings in the Microsoft Store already gave away details. An extended remake of the first Mafia game is coming. Part two is getting a remaster.

The Microsoft Store contained pages with details about the games, Eurogamer writes. The relevant pages have since been removed. According to the website, it was revealed that Mafia: Definitive Edition is an extended remake of the first game in the series. There are also screenshots of the game, which show that the game graphically is being polished up a lot. Hangar 13 is the developer of the remake, which studio also made Mafia 3. An August 27 release date was listed on the Microsoft page.

Mafia II: Definitive Edition was also available in the Microsoft Store. That game was described as a remaster instead of a remake and the graphical upgrade is therefore less great. The remaster of the second game in the series will be released on May 19 and will contain all the DLC released for the game.

2K themselves posted a teaser referring to the Mafia triology. It looks like all three games in the series will be re-released. Developer 2K will announce more about this on May 19. The first Mafia game was originally released in 2002. Part two followed in 2010 and the third game came out in 2016.
