The developers behind Lineage OS have announced which devices will receive builds for the successor to CyanogenMod. The successor was necessary, because the company Cyanogen pulled the plug on support for the custom rom.

The list mainly consists of codenames with names that will be familiar to followers of CyanogenMod. This includes the OnePlus devices and all Nexuses from recent years. There is also the ‘i9100’ in between, the code name for the Samsung Galaxy S II from 2011. LineageOS also has a page on which the code names are translated into the names under which the devices are or have been in the store. All builds should be released this week.

A watermark can be found in the first experimental builds. The builds function properly, but users will see the watermark in every screen. These are not in the nightly’s, remarks tweaker Rens-br. Both builds don’t seem to be intended for everyday use yet. The developers said last weekend that the first builds were on the way, but did not want to say which devices that would be for.

Lineage OS emerged as a successor to the popular CyanogenMod. Because company Cyanogen pulled the plug on development, a group of developers has continued under a different name. Cyanogen itself will focus on creating add-ons for Android, rather than a full ROM.
