Apple would like to equip the iPhone 16 Pro with the telephoto camera with 5x zoom lens that is only on the larger iPhone 15 Pro Max this year. This is what TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims.

The 5x zoom lens is the trickiest part of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, reports Kuo. The analyst has been posting accurate information about unannounced Apple products for years. The zoom lens works with a mechanism to bounce the light back and forth a number of times to obtain a longer focal length. This makes the lens a 120mm lens in 35mm equivalent.

The iPhone 15 Pro has a 77mm lens, something Apple refers to as a 3x zoom compared to the primary camera. The new iPhones will be released on Friday. The next generation of iPhones will probably be released in September next year.
