Huawei has started distributing a beta version of the Android 8.0 update for its P10 and P10 Plus. It is unknown when Huawei will release the update for its high-end smartphones as a stable version.

The closed beta has been going on for some time, users report on XDA-Developers. However, now there is also a public beta of which Android Police has published a changelog. Android Oreo brings the version of Huawei’s own software shell Emui to 8.0. It includes a recycle bin for the gallery, allowing users to easily retrieve accidentally deleted photos within 30 days.

There will also be a possibility to maintain two Bluetooth connections at the same time and elements have been changed in the settings menu. In addition, the Contacts application gains an ability to sync career details with LinkedIn.

In addition, Huawei claims to have made the software faster and there is a floating navigation dock in the software to make the Android buttons available from anywhere. Huawei released the P10 and P10 Plus last spring. There was already an Android 8.0 beta for the Mate 9.
