HTC has suffered a loss for the seventh consecutive quarter. The introduction of new smartphones and the sale of HTC Vive glasses and accessories did not improve the results significantly.

HTC’s quarterly revenue amounted to 22.2 billion Taiwan dollars, or 678 million euros. As a result, turnover was more than 13 percent lower than in the same period a year earlier. The loss amounted to EUR 94.6 million. That is better than the quarterly loss of 103 million euros a year earlier, but it was the seventh consecutive quarterly loss for the Taiwanese company.

According to HTC, sales in the fourth quarter of its fiscal year were “robust” with the HTC 10 evo in November and the HTC Desire 10 Pro and Lifestyle “well received.” The company also said it is expanding its VR ecosystem around the HTC Vive, including the opening of a Vive-based arcade in Taipei and the start of game studios around the Vive.
