HP Announces Education Chromebooks with 14″ Display and Intel Celeron Processor
HP has announced five new Chromebooks for educational institutions, with the largest and best-performing laptop being the 14 G7. It can be supplied with a Celeron N5100 processor, gets a maximum of 8GB memory and 128GB eMMC storage.
HP Chromebook 14 G7
The Chromebook 14 G7 will get an HD webcam, two microphones and multiple HDMI and USB-C ports, according to HP. Liliputing reports that educational institutions can choose a Celeron N4500 or a Celeron N5100 with 4GB or 8GB lpddr4x memory. The laptop gets eMMC storage, where e46 schools can choose whether it should be 32GB, 64GB or 128GB.
The 14″ screen has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, is optionally touch-sensitive and can be tilted up to 180 degrees. The Chromebook also supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5, has USB-A and 3.5mm ports in addition to the aforementioned ports and has a microSD card reader The chassis of all HP laptops shown today are certified to the MIL-STD-810H standard and according to HP can be cleaned with cleaning cloths, ‘up to 350 ml’ spills and have a 76cm drop onto concrete. The laptops also have the same 47Wh battery.
The Chromebook 11 G9 EE is the smaller version of the 14 G7 and has an 11.6 “screen with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. This screen can also be ordered as a touch-sensitive variant. This laptop lacks the HDMI port and supports up to 64GB storage.
With the Chromebook x360 11 G4 EE, schools have the same processor choice as with the 14 G7, although this laptop can handle a maximum of 8GB of memory and 64GB of storage. This laptop has an 11.6″ touch-sensitive screen with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. The hinge of the laptop can rotate 360 degrees. This laptop has two USB-C and two USB-A ports, a 3.5mm port and a microSD card reader. This battery is also 47Wh. The laptop has a 720p webcam and an 8MP camera under the keyboard. The latter camera is facing out in tablet mode. The laptop has two microphones and four speakers.
Finally, HP announces two more 11.6″ Chromebooks with a MediaTek MT8183 processor. This CPU has eight cores. The screen of the 11MK G9 EE has a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and is optionally touch-sensitive. This laptop has USB-A and USB-C ports, a 3.5mm port and a microSD card reader.The Chromebook supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 4.2, has a webcam and comes with 4GB or 8GB memory and 32GB or 64GB eMMC storage.The x360 11MK G3 EE is just like the 11MK G9EE, only it gets a touch-sensitive HD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and a 360-degree hinge.

HP does not give prices for the laptops, it is also unclear whether the laptops will be for sale worldwide. The 11MK G9 EE and x360 11MK G3EE will be available in January, while the 14 G7 and 11 G9 EE will be available for purchase a month later. Finally, the x360 11 G4 EE will be available from March.
