HDI has announced new media player Dune HD Solo 4K

Electronics manufacturer HDI has added a new member to its range of media players, the Dune HD Solo 4K. The player can play a wide range of formats, including hevc video, also known as h.265 with a maximum color depth of 10 bits.

The Dune HD Solo 4K uses the Sigma SMP8758 processor with built-in 4k support and 1GB of ram. The device can also scale content to 4k via vxp and supports all modern 3d video standards, such as MVC, SBS and TnB. All this goes through an HDMI 1.4b connection with which a maximum of 30Hz in 4K resolution can be achieved and 120Hz at 1080p values.

USB media can be used for external storage via one of the two USB ports, but there is also a 2.5″ HDD bay that supports hot-swap functionality. The device itself has 4GB of internal storage for system files and applications The Solo 4K also features a Gigabit Ethernet port and 802.11ac WiFi with support for both the 2.4 and 5.0GHz bands and dual antennas. The Dune HD Solo 4K features dual boot functionality with the classic Linux-based Dune HD media player interface or with Android. According to the specifications, it is the latest version of the operating system, currently Android 6.0.
