Google will move Calendar and Assistant reminders to Tasks starting March 6

Google will begin migrating reminders from Calendar and Assistant to Tasks next month to make them a central place for to-dos. From March 6, users can choose to transfer their reminders; from May 22 this will happen automatically.

The migration of reminders to Google Tasks was already announced in September, but now it is known when it will take place. The intention is that all reminders that users have created in the Google Assistant and Calendar apps can be clearly seen in a single service, said Google.

Also, after these reminders have been transferred, it is possible to create ‘tasks’ from Google Workspace web apps, such as Gmail, Docs and Chat, which then appear in Tasks. Google does report that Keep reminders are not transferred to Tasks. They will still be available in the Keep app, but will no longer be available in the Calendar app after migration.

Personal Google accounts will have the option to transfer their Reminders to Google Tasks from March 6. It will happen automatically from May 22. For Workspace users, the voluntary migration rollout will not begin until April 12.
