Google has released its own app for Android, which allows users to free up space on the smartphone’s storage. Many manufacturers already supplied such an app. The name Files Go indicates that it is an Android Go app.

It is currently a beta version, according to the listing in the Play Store. Android Police previously published about the app, which was not available online at the time. The most distinctive feature of the file manager is that it can set up a local network with other users of the app to quickly share files.

In addition, Files Go can clear the cache of apps to free up space on the storage. It seems that Google made the app for Android Go, the variant of the mobile operating system that will run on phones with little memory and storage.

It is the first time that the search giant has created an app that serves as a ‘cleaner’. Other manufacturers such as Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi have been supplying such apps with their devices for some time. Especially on low-priced phones, the storage is often limited to 8GB or 16GB, so users quickly feel the need to make more space.
