Google has released Android 4.4.4. The minor update follows the previous version in the same month and reportedly fixes a dangerous bug in OpenSSL. Version 4.4.4 is the first to roll out over-the-air on Nexus devices.

Android 4.4.4 KitKat addresses a critical vulnerability in OpenSSL, which was discovered early this month, according to ArsTechnica. That bug allowed attackers to perform a man-in-the-middle attack, but only if the victim was also using OpenSSL. The leak affected both the client and the server. The OpenSSL team released an update to the software shortly after the vulnerability was disclosed.

The most current images for Nexus 5, Nexus 7 2013, Nexus 7 2012, Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 are available. Those follow just a few weeks after Google released Android 4.4.3. That update mainly brought bug fixes and added no new features.
