Google is working on the ability to show 3D models of buildings while navigating in its mapping app Maps. The feature is currently still being tested. It is not yet known when it will be available to every Google Maps user.

According to 9to5Google A number of users on Android and iOS have already gained access to the function. It is already possible to choose a 3D view with the map layers, but not while using the navigation.

To see the 3D view when navigating, it must be selected for route following. The user must also zoom in sufficiently on the route. For some testers, the function is also already available in Android Auto, according to a post on the Android Auto subreddit.
