The latest update to the Gmail app for Android allows users to save email attachments directly to Google Drive. Previously, users could only save attachments to their mobile device’s memory.

Google announced the changes that the update brings on Tuesday. One of the changes is that a small explanation will now appear above every mail that ends up in the spam folder as to why it has been marked as spam. In addition, the navigation has been adjusted so that users can access a menu with a swipe on the left side of the app in which they can choose from accounts, labels, settings, help and feedback. The design has also been adjusted so that text in a language that is read from right to left should come into its own.

The web version of the mail service previously made it possible to save attachments directly to Google Drive. Gmail’s Android app became the first individual app in the Play Store to pass one billion downloads on Wednesday. Google has also made some changes to Drive recently; for example, Google lowered the prices for extra storage space and the presentation tool of the storage service has recently started offering Chromecast support.
