Mattias Engström will lead the development of Crysis 4. Engström has worked as a level designer on Io Interactive’s Hitman trilogy and was the game director of the third installment in the series.

Crysis developer Crytek has Tuesday announced that Engström joined the game studio this week. The developer has almost eight years worked at Io Interactive. Before that, he was a level designer at Massive Entertainment, a game studio that is part of Ubisoft. Engström has worked at Massive Entertainment on Far Cry 3, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, The Division and the World in Conflict series.

Since the announcement of Crysis 4 in January, little has been known about the shooter. The last part of the Crysis series came out in 2013. In 2020, a remaster of the first game from 2007, which at the time was known for its high graphics quality, was released. Remasters of Crysis 2 and 3 were also released last year.
