Firmware Update: Tyan Tomcat i915 1.05

Tyan today released a new BIOS for his Tomcat i915, also known by model designation S5120, and assigned it the version number 1.05. The changelog is packed with changes as you can see here:

New features and fixes:

• Fixed an issue where a random character would appear after the “Entering SETUP …” showed during the POST randomly
• Add new item for some Linux can’t boot from USB flash disk
• Update micro code for Prescott CPU
• Change the string ‘NX BIOS control’ to ‘Execute Disable Bit’ and Change Help string to address an Intel update
• Added Intel EIST function support
• Intel P4 EMT64 CPU support
• Fixed the onboard PCI Express LAN issue to pass the Microsoft WHQL HCT ‘PCI compliant test’
• Fixed audio can’t playback after resume from S3 state
• Added support for the Sil 1364 DVI PCI card for onboard VGA DVI output
