Firmware Update: Tyan Tiger i7320/i7320R 1.04

Tyan has released a new BIOS for its Tiger i7320 and Tiger i7320R motherboards, also known by the model designations S5350 and S5350-1U. The developers have fixed some bugs, updated parts and increased the version number to 1.04. The changelog looks like this:

(WARNING: Use of this bios will require a fresh/clean OS installation for anything using the prior Adaptec firmware off the 6300ESB chipset)

• Fixed an issue where the system will reboot when the 6300ESB SATA Raid does a rebuild at a firmware level
• Fixed an issue where COM2 will re-enable under WinXP if COM2 is disabled via BIOS setup options
• Updated Sata Raid Option ROM to an Adaptec v3.2-1 1255 firmware
• Updated CPU support to add Irwindale 2MB L2 Cache CPUs
• Updated CPU Micro Code
• Fixed issue where you can’t boot from RedHat (x32) 7.3 CD-ROM when using an IDE RAID configuration
• Fixed an issue where you can’t boot to an OS when using a PCI SCSI card on the M2043 riser card from PCI slot 2 or 3 under any Linux distribution
• Fixed a problem where Power On after Power Failure option in bios does not bring the system back up from a power failure
