Firmware Update: Synology Disk Station Manager 3.2 build 1958

Spread the love

Synology has released an update to version 3.2 of Disk Station Manager, the management software that runs on several of the company’s NAS products. The Disk, Cube and Rack Stations offer more than just extra storage space. In this way, backups of all clients on the network can also be made and files can be downloaded via http, ftp, bittorrent, usenet and emule, so that, for example, energy-hungry PCs can switch off at night, while the download just comes in. Furthermore, audio and video files can be streamed over the network via the built-in iTunes server, a dynamic website can be hosted using PHP and MySQL and it can act as a print server.

Version 3.2 can only be installed on the nas models ending in 08- or higher and has, among other things, a refreshed look that makes more use of html5 and css 3. Furthermore, there is support for ldap, there is a new package center and Synology ready for Google Cloud Print and Mac OS X Lion. In addition to the stable 3.2 firmware, Synology is also currently working on the next generation of Disk Station Manager, which will introduce some interesting new features. Version 3.2 build 1958 fixes some minor undisclosed issues.
