Download Firmware Sony A7(R) III 3.0

Sony has released new firmware for its A7 III and A7R III system cameras with 3.0 as the version number. These cameras include a full-frame BSI sensor with five-axis image stabilization with 24.2 megapixels for the A7 III and 42.4 megapixels for the A7R III. The changes in this release are as follows:

Benefits and improvements related to this update

• Real-time eye autofocus for animals added [1]
• Ability to control real-time eye AF by pressing the shutter button halfway or pressing the AF-ON button
• Addition of interval shooting function
• Operation with the wireless remote controller RMT-P1BT enabled
• Other improvements:
  • [MENU] can be assigned to a customizable key
  • Tab Operation [MENU] with the Fn button
• Improves the overall stability of the camera

[1] – It is not possible to simultaneously detect human and animal eyes. Depending on the environment, the type of animal or the movement of the animal, the eyes may not be detected.
