These cameras have a cmos image sensor in Nikon’s CX format on board and can be fitted with different lenses. For more information about the Nikon 1 series and these two models, we refer you to our hands-on from October this year. The list of changes for this update is as follows:
Changes in this version
- Mount adapter FT1 support has been added.
The FT1 allows NIKKOR lenses with a Nikon F mount to be used with the J1. The main specifications of these are:- Autofocus is possible when an AF-S lens is used. However, the focus mode must be set to AF-S (single AF) and the AF-area mode is fixed to Single-point using only the center focus point.
- The focus indicator (rangefinder) can be used with CPU lenses.
- The exposure modes [P], [S], [A] and [M] can be used with CPU lenses.
- The exposure modes [A] and [M] can be used with non-CPU lenses. The aperture is set with the aperture ring on the lens.
- Vibration Reduction (VR) works when a VR lens is used. Enable vibration reduction, or specify a setting, using switches on the lens.
- Shooting in Motion Snapshot mode is possible only after focusing with an AF-S lens.
- The Smart Photo Selector function cannot be used.
