Spread the love

Netgear has released a new version of ReadyNAS Raidiator, the software that runs on several of the company’s NAS devices. These are the ReadyNAS 1500, 2100, 3100, 3200, 4200, Ultra 2/Plus, Ultra 4/Plus, Ultra 6/Plus, Pro 2, Pro 4, Pro 6, Pro Business Edition, Pro Pioneer Edition, NVX and NVX Pioneer Edition. Updating can be done by navigating to the System > Update > Remote tab in Frontview or by checking the new image yourself first to download. The changelog for this release looks like this:

New features and enhancements

  • Updated SMB service to fix various security concerns.
  • Updated network driver for RN2100V2 to fix bug in rare circumstances.
  • Update to new Netatalk with quota fix (for TimeMachine capacity limitation).

Limitations:

  • IE 6 no longer supported.
  • Volume expansion will not work beyond 16TB. To support 16TB or greater, you’ll have to factory default with that capacity in place.
  • Snapshot resizing has been disabled in the release. We will re-enable this feature in a future update.
  • Maximum 2TB drive support on 3200/4200 V1 channels 5-12 due to LSI controller limitation.
