Anonymous: 21054 was the first to inform us that ATi has released a beta version of the forthcoming Catalyst 4.9 driver. The only change, it seems read on the ATi website, there is an improved performance in the game Doom 3:
ATI is providing an early version of CATALYST 4.9 to users interested in increasing performance of Doom 3.
